Mr Snowman Shaker Card

Hi everyone. I hope you're all well and happy today. This is my last card for Crafting by Designs, sob, sob. In case you didn't see my last post I'm sadly stepping down from the design team as I'm really struggling with my health at the moment. Happily Doris, the coordinator of the blog, has left the door open for me to return if my health improves which is so lovely of her.

Right on to the new Get Ready For Christmas challenge at Crafting by Designs. My card uses the wonderful Mr Snowman from the A Day For Daisies store. There are loads of gorgeous stamps and some free ones at the moment there too. Here is my DT card.

A close up of the snowman ....

Gilding wax on the poinsettias .....

And finally all shook up (feel free to start singing here 😊)......

Wow, what a fantastic prize that is! You'd really have fun spending that.

I'd like to enter the following challenges:-

I want to say a big thank you to everyone who gave me advice on how to make a successful shaker card. After a few mistakes and one near disaster, when I dropped a full pot of the sequin mix on the floor which my fantastic hubby, on his knees with damp kitchen towels, picked up as much as was humanly possible and stopped me from crying, I finished the card and the bits didn't drop out the bottom, Yay!

I'll still be making and posting cards as often as I'm able so don't think I'm going anywhere but I've really appreciated the supportive comments you've left for me.

Just for me to remind you about the challenge and another chance to add more Christmas cards to your pile if you've already been playing along or the chance to start them at Crafting by Designs.

See you all again when I've more cards to share with you.

Another Apology!!

Hi everyone. It's now confirmed that I AM completely loopy!!! Last week's card was posted a week too early. Today is the new challenge over at Crafting by Designs with the challenge Fall Colors not last week as I said it was :-O. So I'm really sorry about that. Please look back at last week's card to see my DT card for the challenge.
The fabulous sponsor for this challenge is........

Prize - choice of 3 digi stamps.

There are oodles of gorgeous stamps to choose from if you go and look at their store.

I was going to tell you next week but now seems as good a time that I'm sadly stepping down from the team at Crafting by Designs. As you all know I've been really struggling with my MS lately and trying to make cards to a deadline when you're not feeling too good is very difficult so it was time to call it quits and leave the team. I've really enjoyed being part of the group and will miss them so much but Doris, the lovely coordinator of the challenge has left the door open for me to return if my health improves which is so kind. Mind you after the last two posts I don't know if she'd want me back :D!

I've one more DT card to make for the end of November which hopefully will be posted on the right day, lol, but I hope to blog a few cards I've already made between now and then.

Please, please, please go see the challenge at Crafting by Designs and join in just to prove I've not been a complete waste of a DT member :) and I'll be back again soon.

Hi everyone. I hope you're having a good week so far.

I have an apology to make for last week's post. I said it was a Halloween theme over at Crafting by Designs but I got totally mixed up because it's this week. This is what happens when you're not feeling very well and post something when up to my eyes in pain killers :D. So if you've got your Halloween cards made you can enter up to three of your creations in the challenge. I'll tell you about the prize a little later.

So this is the card I should have shared with you for the Add a Sentiment challenge last week. It's using a really sweet image from QKR Stampede called Smiling Angel. She can be used for anytime of year but I made her into a Christmas card. I hope you like it.

City Streets and Crafting by Designs Challenge

Hi everyone. I hope all of you who were affected by Hurricane Matthew are all okay.

There's a new challenge starting over at Crafting by Designs with a Halloween theme. The prize for this challenge of 3 digi images has been provided by the fantastic sponsor Robin's Fetish. So if you've been in a spooky mood with your crafting why not share it by entering the challenge.

My card today is using stamps and co-ordinating dies called City Streets from Sunny Studio Stamps. I just fell in love with them when I saw them on Pinterest. I contacted Mendi at the company who told me she'd only just got a UK supplier. She really kindly asked them to add these to their next order for me. They really appeal to my inner little girl as they're so small and cute, something I'm not :D! I hope you like my card.

A close up of one of the little shops.....

Don't you think the little dog is cute? The sky looks a bit bluer in real life, the photo has washed the colours out a little. I'm hoping to make another card but a night time version when I get the chance.

They've got a fabulous new release of fun Christmas stamps and dies over at Sunny Studio Stamps so if you love anything cute go and have a look.

Don't forget to check out the new challenge too at Crafting by Designs and see the Halloween inspiration from the Design Team.

Prize - Choice of 3 digi images.

Thank you so much for visiting my blog :).
I'll be back again next week.

Butterfly card

Hi everyone.
I was really pleased to have one of my cards picked top five in a Fussy and Fancy Challenge and invited to be Featured Guest Designer. I was unable to do it at the time but Sheri at the challenge blog very kindly asked me to be it for a later challenge.(It is me they've featured despite getting a new surname :D!) So here's my card for the new Challenge with the theme Bingo Board. It's a bit late but I didn't see the email saying it was going on the blog until late but better late than never :). I hope you like it.

A better shot of the gilding wax on the butterfly....

Breena and Bear. Anything Goes Challenge at Crafting by Designs

Hi everyone. I hope you're all well and happy.
October seems to have arrived so soon. I always plan to have started my Christmas cards in September but that's not happened of course. Anyway on to today's post which sees the new Anything Goes challenge at Crafting by Designs. There are three sponsors for this challenge but more on that later.

My card today is using Breena and Bear from SheepSki Designs. I've made a Christmas card using this cute image but you could use this at anytime of year.

Close up shot of the image.....

and Wink of Stella on her wings......

I don't think I could have got more glitter on here if I tried :D! Even the Ric Rac ribbon is glittery.

The sponsors for this challenge are......
Prize - Choice of 3 digi images.

Prize - Choice of 3 digi images.

Prize - Choice of 3 digi images.

That's three, yes THREE, prizes to win from our sponsors.

Card Ingredients.

6" x 6" Card Blank- Craftwork Cards.
Stamp- SheepSki Designs 'Breena and Bear' digi stamp.
Sentiment- LOTV 'Happy Circular Sentiments set 8'.
Cardstock- Dovecraft Glitter card 'White' and 'Silver'.
Dies- Joy Crafts 'Christmas Cottage Set' (star). Cottage Cuts 'Birch Trees and Deer'.
Medium- Copic 'Ciao and Sketch' pens.
Embossing Powder- Chloe's Creative Stamps Wow 'Silver Bells'.
Ink- Versamark. Distress Ink 'Stormy Sky'.
Silver Ric Rac- From a craft show.
Wink of Stella in 'Clear'.

I just want to mention a tool I bought that really helped with this card and that is the Fiskars Fingertip Craft Knife. I find it really difficult to use craft knives due to the lack of sensation in my hands but this I found really easy to use especially on Breena's hair. I would highly recommend it to others who struggle with ordinary knives like me. (Wish I was getting paid for this :D)

With three prizes on offer it's a great time to enter the Anything Goes challenge at Crafting by Designs and you can enter three projects too.

Right I'm off to tidy my craft room which looks a herd of wild animals have run through it leaving no space to craft. Note to self:- must not buy any more craft stuff (yeah right :D). See you again next week,

Flower Fairy and Anything Goes at Crafting by Designs

Hi everyone. A bit of a short and sweet post today as I've not been feeling too great lately.
A new Anything Goes Challenge has started at Crafting by Designs. There are two sponsors for this challenge All Dressed Up Stamps and Dr. Digi. They have some fantastic prizes for the lucky winners but more on that later on.

My card today was made using the beautiful Flower Fairy from All Dressed Up and was a real delight to colour.

Close up shot....

Wink of Stella on her wings.....

and finally the inside of the card.....

The prizes on offer for this challenge from our fabulously generous sponsors are...

Prize - Winner's choice of 2 digi images.

Prize - Winner's choice of 2 digi images.

I wish I could enter myself with those prizes :D!

Card Ingredients.

6" x 6" Card Blank- Craftwork Cards.
Stamp- All Dressed Up 'Flower Fairy' digi stamp.
Sentiment- Lindsay Mason Designs 'Everyday words Happy Birthday'.
Papers- LOTV 'Timeless Victorian' (retired).
Dies- Spellbinders 'Stately Circles'. Tonic 'Just For You' (circle). Magnolia Doohickeys Box Magazine 'Volume 10' (purple heart). Memory Box 'Dancing Butterflies'. Creative Expressions 'Delicate Fronds'.
Cardstock- Tattered Lace purple card free with some stamps.
Inks- Memento 'Tuxedo Black'. Distress Ink 'Walnut Stain'.
Medium- Copic pens 'Ciao and Sketch '.
Embellishments- WOC 'White Pearl Drop Trim'. Flower Lace from a craft show. Feather from stash. Crystal Beaded Stems from stash (really old!).
Ribbon- Live and Love Crafts 'Crinkled White Seam Binding'.
Flowers- WOC 'Miniature Sweetheart Blossom' & 'Gypsophila'.
Other Stuff- Wink of Stella in 'Clear' and DecoArt Glamour Dust in 'Crystal'.

I'm the queen of not getting rid of things (I got this from my lovely mum) in case I need them which is what happened with the Crystal Beaded Stems I used on the card. I must have had these for at least 15 years!! My hubby sometimes says why not have a clear out but it very rarely happens. I did have one once and then found the same week that I needed something I'd got rid of (I think this must have scarred me for life :D!). So my new craft room is fit to burst already. I really need to make more cards but until my MS settles (fingers crossed that it does) I'm only making the cards I need to for the DT. I hope I'll be able to make more for the shop I supply as they are selling really well especially my more expensive boxed cards, I need the cash for the next craft show I go to :).

Right I'm off to have a rest now. Don't forget to check out the new challenge at Crafting by Designs. You've plenty of time to enter as it runs until 25th September.

Happy Crafting!
